Production Update: Casting, Carving, Engraving, painting!

Hey everyone, we are almost there! The packaging factory tells us they should have our packages ready within the next two weeks and then the first wave of shipping can begin:)
Below is the update on each of the different items:
PULVERIZED BONE DICE, REPLICAS & DISPLAYS
100% of all pulverized bone dice, replicas and displays have been cast and are being painted as we speak! These items will start shipping in the first wave as soon as the packaging is ready (within the next week or two)!
These should be 100% finished and ready to paint all numbers/logos within the next week.
SOLID BONE DICE
Carved Solid bone: this has proven to be the slowest of the items. We have to go much slower in each step for these as they are more delicate.
The normal jigs had to also be adjusted to fit our dimensions to minimize waste. Normal stone dice are made by taking 1.25 inch cubes and cutting down to the 5/8 inch dice size but since t rex bone is so rare and expensive we had to create custom rigging and supports to surround the fossil so that way the bulk of what was cut away is the temporary support and not the valuable t rex fossil itself.
Right now we expect these to finish processing in about 2 weeks or so and so they will ship in the second wave (2-3 weeks from now likely).
ELEMENT DICE
All Element Dice should be finished casting and be ready to paint within about a week.

Mass Production Update

Mass Production is under way in full force!
TLDR: production is going well. Things are moving steadily along. The process is going slower than anticipated so all estimated ship dates have been pushed back 2-4 weeks but everything is progressing nicely and it's cool to see everything coming together!

SOLID BONE DICE
Laser Engraving and and Numbers Paint test
Full Set Jig Test looks good so they will begin to cut the solid bone sets en mass soon.
Since t rex bone is often hollow in many sections it creates a fair amount of "pot holes" and craters on some of the surfaces that we are going to have to fill in to help maintain balance and allow for the numbers to be engraved cleanly on all face. We will be filling in those "pot holes" with a combination of pulverized fossil and resin/cement in order to best match the texture and color of each batch of carved bone done.
PULVERIZED BONE DICE
Pulverized T Rex Bone (300 microns)
We had to get the pulverized T-rex bone refined down to about a 300 Microns in size in order for it to suspend and cure properly when mixed with the resin in the silicon molds.
These will be painted and aged next. We will add a patina Exterior coloration and aging and they will ultimately look like the samples filmed for the campaign.
We have pretty well honed in on the ideal ratio of fossil powder to resin to allow for as much t rex bone as possible while still allowing for fair rolling dice. When we originally tested with our large particulate size ground up t-rex bone it cured strongly still at a higher percentage. However that larger particulate size powder was still being pulled down by gravity and settled in the bottom of each dice while curing and caused unfair rolls. So we had to further refine the fossil bone powder down to an even smaller particulate size in order for it to stay suspended. The new finer bone powder stays suspended well. But tt does seem to react more strongly with the resin and dry out and affect proper curing the closer to 5% or higher we go so right now we are having good success at around 3-5% T-rex fossil bone powder in order to get a strong cure. So that is the ratio of pulverized bone to resin we are doing for the rest of mass production.

This is how they look directly form the mold. You can see how much of the pulverized fossil settled in the low spots of the cast. The new pulverized powder wil lsuspend it more evenly moving forward.

NEW CERTIFICATE DESIGN & DIMENSIONS
New certificate Design. Start printing the different certificates soon.
Based off of your votes we will be doing all Certificates of Authenticity as 3 by 5 inch cards. One will come with EVERY item that includes t rex fossil. These will be printed high quality card stock and gold foil stamped and then laminated for long term durability. All of the most important details for the provenance of each fossil are included on the certificate and then photos of the correlating fossil will be able to be viewed directly online with the links connected to each different certificate.
ELEMENT DICE
No new updates since last time. We are waiting for the CNC machining to be finished on the solid metal dice and expect the resin ingots to be ready to begin producing in mass soon but we will keep you posted as we hear back from our factory partners for those.

Hey Everyone, we need your votes for the Certificates of Authenticity:
Do we make Large or Small Certificates?
Our original plan for the Certificates of Authenticity was to print them on a full page (8.5 x 11 inches) but we have had many inquiries about if we could do smaller laminated certificates so that they could be more easily displayed next to your dice displays or easily taken with your dice case and handled by friends etc.
We need your votes! Would you prefer a full size 8.5 x 11 inch Certificate of Authenticity or smaller laminated Certificate (perhaps around 3 x 5 inches) so it would be more easy to display the certificate along side you item?
Most pledges on track for Late August Still

Hey Everyone!
As per our last update most orders are still on track for late August. We had hoped to have some items possibly shipping out separately in the end of July or early August but it is looking like nothing will begin shipping until the end of August.
Below is an update by each different item category:
T-Rex Bone Inclusion Dice
The smooth surface dice cores are finished processing and now the silicon molds are being created off of those cores.
Expecting Shipping Date: Late August/Early September
T-Rex Pulverized Bone Dice & Scale Replicas
The finer pulverized bone powder is finished and ready. The silicon molds should be ready soon (we have to make about 500 sets of molds because they can only be used a few times without diminishing quality). We thought and hoped to have all those molds finished already but the initial D6 dimensions were wrong so we had to redo all the cores before making the silicon molds in mass.
Expecting Shipping Date: Late August/Early September
T-Rex Solid Bone Dice
We are testing the mass production jigs on the raw solid fossil bone cubes now. If those look good we will begin cutting all solid bone sets. We are also testing the laser engraving on the bone to see if it will be dark enough on its own or if we will need to paint all the numbers and logos after the laser etching of the fossil surfaces.

Element Dice
Vanadium boards are ready to begin their CNC process next and the molds are being and prepared for the resin ingot element versions.

Hey Everyone!
Everything is moving along well! We have had a few minor delays with some of the mold and jig factories so we expect shipping to be delayed by 2-4 weeks from our original estimated ship date. Some orders we still expect to start shipping by the end of July as originally anticipated still and then we expect most of the rest to all go out in middle to late August.
Below is an update by each different item category:
T-Rex Bone Inclusion Dice
We have just finished processing the T-Rex bone piece for the inclusions!
Expecting Shipping Date: Probably early to mid August
Cutting and processing around 7000 bone inclusions for the clear inclusion Bone dice
T-Rex Pulverized Bone Dice & Scale Replicas
We are needing to pulverize our current bone powder into an even finer powder for it to mix and cure more evenly with the resin. The current Bone powder has too large a grain size so it settles to much and doesn't stay suspended in the resin when curing. We expect to have the finer pulverized bone powder ready within a week
Expecting Shipping Date: Late July for initial batches & Early August for the rest

T-Rex Solid Bone Dice
We have not been able to begin cutting the raw bone cubes into their dice form yet. We are waiting for the jig factory to finish creating the custom jigs to help the mass production cutting process stay much more precise and move much faster for these (We have to do about 6000 dice and need them to stay uniform). It will probably be several weeks before they begin to start being cut and processed into their dice form.

Element Dice
We have ordered the elements and we are waiting for the the raw materials to arrive. We expect them to arrive within the next week or so and then we will being processing them:)
